Do you have a great idea for a project that you would like to coordinate? Do you want to serve, but none of our projects look like the right fit. That's okay!
Make A Difference Day is the most encompassing day of helping others. That means everyone can participate! We encourage everyone to take the initiative to Create A Project on your own.
By creating your own project, you can manage a project to best fit your style-and help the community in the way that fits both you and the community best!
Projects that you create could be anything. You could coordinate a clothing drive, bake cookies for the mailman, gather your friends and neighbors to clean up your block, or put in a community garden. The possibilities are endless!
We've put together a few resources below to get your started with your project. For more ideas and assistance, feel free to call

Create A Project Resources
It is important that you contact the agency first about the project, drive or fundraiser that you are interested in participating in to ensure that the need still exists. We also ask that you host your project during Make A Difference Day (October 18-24, 2010).
Once you have your project planned, please inform the Volunteer Center by returning a completed Create A Project Registration Form.
Where do I start?
- Pick an Issue! Here is a brainstorming list of Project Ideas to pick through and/or get inspired.
- Organizations in the community have brainstormed potential projects that they could use help with, too. Click here to see what help they need.
- Here are some tips and ideas to help you through the process of Planning A Project.
- Once you have your project planned out, register your project with the Volunteer Center to receive gifts for you volunteers!
