INSTRUCTOR PROFILES

Third Sector Enterprises has recruited highly qualified local instructors with many years of experience to teach the classes. Here are brief biographies of T.A.P. faculty.

ART BAVOSO
Art has 36 years of distinguished experience in fundraising, management, community development, teaching, training and consultation services for non-profit organizations in such diverse sectors as public health, elementary, secondary and higher education, youth residential treatment, and United Way. He is the founder of Third Sector Enterprises, and holds a M.S. degree from Lehman College in Educational Administration.

ASHLEY KASPRZAK
Ashley is a Senior Associate representing JVA in northern Colorado. Ashley has worked with, and volunteered for, numerous nonprofit organizations in Colorado for more than 17 years. Before coming to JVA, Ashley was the program director for the Colorado Endowment for the Humanities, where she guided applicants on writing grant proposals, administered grant awards and coordinated all program presentations. She has also served as a grant reviewer for the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District in Denver.She has overseen and written successful grants that resulted in more than $30 million to the fields of education, technology and the arts.

LESLIE LAUTZENHISER

Ms. Leslie Lautzenhiser, is a consultant with Human Resource Management Consultants. She has over 16 years of Human Resource experience including executive level management and consulting. She holds a MS in HR Management and has trained for small and large organizations in all areas of Human Resources. HRMC Inc. is a full-cycle talent management firm with offices throughout Colorado.  Ms Lautzenhiser is the Fort Collins Managing Partner for the firm.

JOHNNA BAVOSO

Johnna loves life and lives it with zest! In her presentation, Johnna will inspire and challenge you to understand and manage your personal and organizational changes with purpose and passion as you move successfully into new beginnings.Johnna’s professional journey has included her a variety of experiences from being a mental health professional, to a juvenile probation officer, to directing non-profit organizations in Denver and Fort Collins including Partners and The Women’s Center.  Then in 1983 her entrepreneurial spirit got the best of her and she launched The People Business, Inc through which she has offered organizational development, leadership coaching and change management services to companies and non profit organizations all over the country for the past twenty five years.  She has served as the Company Coach for Mc Whinney since 2003 and that company was recognized in 2007 as one of the best 25 small companies to work for in America.

CAROL JOHNSON

Carol has over 20 years' legal experience in estate planning, estate administration and tax.  She has had a second career in non-profit fundraising and has done it all from special events and direct mail to major and planned gifts.  She has her law degree for the University of Denver and is a licensed Colorado attorney.

ROBERT SLADE

Robert’s professional experience spans over 25 years in the fields of psychology, human resources management, organizational development and corporate coaching. He has held executive level positions at Hewlett Packard Company, Poudre Valley Health System, and New Belgium Brewing Company.  Earlier in Robert’s career he co-owned and managed the largest privately owned employee assistance program in Colorado.Robert has served as an external and internal organization development consultant and has coached numerous managers and executives towards improved leadership performance. In addition, he designed team interventions, organizational change initiatives and management training programs. Robert’s specific areas of professional interest and expertise include executive coaching, emotional intelligence in the workplace, leadership development, and managing difficult business conversations.

KERRY LUPHER

Kerry has more than 14 years of experience serving as a change agent for nonprofit organizations. She is an accomplished evaluation and capacity building consultant and a vibrant and seasoned trainer. Before coming to JVA, Kerry worked for National Research Center, Inc., where she managed large-scale research and evaluation projects for state and local governments, foundations and nonprofits. Kerry brings specific content knowledge in the areas of community food security, health and mental health, HIV/AIDS, interorganizational relationships, positive youth development, older adults, parks and recreation, and violence against women. Her research and evaluation skills span across qualitative and quantitative methods, and her expertise is building evaluation capacity with nonprofits, focus-group facilitation and qualitative analysis. Kerry has dedicated her time to an array of nonprofit and civic groups, including the Matthew Shepard Foundation, Colorado Coalition Against Domestic Violence, Greater Community AIDS Project and the Louisville Housing Authority. She has served as a board member, commissioner, fundraiser, program manager, social justice advocate, strategic planner and researcher.
