February’s Volunteer of the Month is awarded to
Cathy Rotman

In November of 2007, Cathy Rotman joined the Matthews House volunteer team and has since become an integral part of the organization. Volunteering as a one-on-one youth mentor, house mom, attending activities with the youth and raising awareness about the program, there is not much Cathy isn’t involved with.
Cathy is a volunteer that can be depended on and one that the youth have come to trust and respect. Cathy talks with every youth that enters the house and is able to put people at ease, yet can speak the hard truths to the individuals that are looking for redirection.
Cathy has really made an impact on the Thursday afternoon crowd, with her home cooked meals and house mom mentality. Youth tend to frequent the house more regularly now to see what meal will be served and have started to process pieces of their lives with Cathy, some have even began learning some cooking skills from her as well.
“Cathy has not only impacted Matthews House and its clients, but the whole community,” Vanessa Aschmann said. “She is helping youth, disadvantage and forgotten, to redirect their lives.”
Thank you Cathy for making the change and role model in the lives of so many youth. You truly make the difference.
