Technical Assistance Parternship (TAP) Faculty Information

We have recruited highly qualified local instructors with many years of experience to teach the classes. Here are brief biographies of this semester's TAP instructors:

Dawn Putney –Turning Nonprofits into Social Media Whiz Kids

It all started for Dawn in a high school graphic design class in 1981. With her first “real job” as an advertising typesetter, Dawn developed her passion for the printed word and attention to detail. Before moving to Colorado, Dawn worked with some of the largest advertising agencies in Minneapolis, including Carmichael Lynch and McElligott, Wright, Morrison, White. Yet it is her experience with some of the smaller agencies in town that helped her focus her attentions on design as a marketing strategy. In 25+ years as a graphic designer and marketing professional, Dawn has created award-winning designs and compelling, effective marketing and social media campaigns.

Sarah Fischler – Strategic Planning & Adaptive Thinking for Nonprofit Organizations

Sarah Fischler is the director of consulting and special projects for the Community Resource Center, a capacity building organization that works across Colorado.  Sarah brings experience as a consultant, grantmaker, nonprofit director, and board member to her role at CRC.  Sarah’s consulting work at CRC is focused on organizational effectiveness, strategic direction, governance, executive transition, and strategies for utilizing online communication tools.  She provides consulting and training services on these topics across Colorado.  You can follow her on Twitter @SarahFischler.

Randi Nelson, Ph.D – Program Evaluation Without Headaches

Randi Nelson, Ph.D. lives in Fort Collins, and is a senior research associate at JVA Consulting, where she designs and conducts evaluations and needs assessments for JVA clients. Her current clients include Rose Community Foundation’s Boomers Leading Change in Health Initiative, and the University of Colorado, and she is the evaluator for Bright Mountain Foundation’s capacity building initiative.

Lori Juszak – Long-Term Funds Development

Lori Juszak is a Front Range Community College adjunct faculty member, and previously developed and taught classes within the Nonprofit Management Certificate Program at Shasta College in Northern California.

Lori holds a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Leadership and a Master’s of Business Administration.  She also holds a Health Leadership Fellowship Certification from University of Southern California earned in collaboration with Sierra Health Foundation.

As the owner of several small businesses over the years, and the Executive Director of a nonprofit for over a decade, Lori hopes to bring not only her own experiences to trainings but to bring forth the wealth of experience from all those participating as well.

In addition to teaching, Lori frequently offers training to community groups and nonprofit organizations in strategic planning, workshop methods, grant writing, grassroots community leadership skills and evaluation tools.
