Contact the United Way Volunteer Center to find out how your faith organization can make a difference.
No matter what religion you are affiliated with, your help is needed. The United Way Volunteer Center offers a variety of services to help faith organizations get involved in the community. Some of these services are:
- Volunteer management training and resources
- Technical assistance in organizing a volunteer project
- Up-to-date information about volunteer opportunities
What can a low-income family or individual do if they are in need of assistance with moving, are injured or disabled and need help in their home, or are elderly and want someone to rake leaves or shovel snow?
Currently, there is no organization set up that can help people with these unmet needs. However, the Volunteer Center is partnering with some of our community's faith-based organizations to help address these problems. We are organizing a faith-based service crew to operate as a volunteer task force to meet these needs. The service crew will consist of individuals and families within faith organizations who are willing to provide short-term immediate assistance to those in need. The service crew designates a crew leader who is in charge of coordinating the requested service and finding volunteers within their network to meet each individual need whenever possible. The service crews coordinate projects in neighborhoods throughout Larimer County, under the direction of United Way 2-1-1.
If you or your faith organization is interested in being a part of the service crew or would like more information about our faith-based program please contact Bryan at 970.407.7066 or bmorton@uwaylc.org.
