The United Way of Larimer County's Volunteer Center provides a number of opportunities and resources to help connect youth with volunteer opportunities in our community.

Opportunities

Alternative Spring Break - Youth Responding to Poverty – This event will educate and engage teens in volunteer and advocacy work around the issues of poverty and homelessness in Larimer County.  The event will take place on March 19, 2010  Click here for a student application. Applications are due Friday, February 19, 2010.

Global Youth Service Day (GYSD) – GYSD is April 19-25, 2010 and it is the largest service event in the world! The goal of GYSD is to mobilize youth to identify and address the needs of their communities through service, recruit the next generation of volunteers, and educate the public about the year-round contributions young people make as community leaders. Why not work with a class or club at school to plan a project for GYSD! Click here to download a registration form. For a list of great service project ideas, click here.

Make a Difference Day – Make a Difference Day is October 18-23, 2010 and it is Larimer County’s largest community-wide day of service. In 2008, over 3,700 volunteers (including 1,200 youth volunteers) helped out at over 160 projects at 90 nonprofits in Larimer County. Talk to your teachers and contact the United Way Volunteer Center about how your class can get involved in Make a Difference Day! For more information, click here.
